Sabrina was introduced to Chinese medicine at an early age, growing up near an herbal dispensary in China where she witnessed its quiet yet powerful ability to support healing. This early exposure shaped her path toward a career in integrative medicine.
She began her professional journey in Traditional Chinese Medicine as a TuiNa therapist at the leading Chinese Medicine Healthcare Center in Beijing, China. After relocating to the United States, Dr. Kao earned both her Doctor of Acupuncture (D.Ac.) and Master of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. She is nationally board-certified in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine through the NCCAOM (NCBAM).
Dr. Kao specializes in women’s health and fertility, supporting patients through natural conception, IVF and IUI cycles, pregnancy, PCOS, and a wide range of gynecological conditions. Her approach is both evidence-informed and deeply holistic, addressing the physical, emotional, and systemic aspects of health. She is currently pursuing certification through the Acupuncture and TCM Board of Reproductive Medicine (ABORM) to further deepen her expertise in reproductive care.
In addition to her work in fertility, Dr. Kao has completed advanced training in Sports Medicine Acupuncture and has extensive experience treating pain, insomnia, anxiety, mood disorders, and digestive conditions.
As a mother of three, Dr. Kao recently relocated from Washington to North Carolina with her family. At The Asula Holistic Center, she is committed to patient-centered, compassionate care, offering highly individualized treatments that support reproductive health, ease stress, and restore balance- guiding each patient with clinical precision, warmth, and discretion.
